Canola Meal Export Mission to China: A Great Success! Print E-mail

Canola Meal Export Mission to China: A Great Success!

Hamilton, ON,  Danielle Santoli

On September 15, 2012, the CCAgr and business associate Dr. John Groenewegen, President of JRG Consulting Group, traveled to China on a Canola Meal Export Mission, supported by SaskCanola, AB Canola Producers and MB Canola Growers Association, in conjunction with SJT Solutions, as part of a consulting project to better understand the current market position and opportunities of Canadian canola meal in the Chinese feed market. The Canadian Canola Council and the Tongwei Group had previously signed a deal together in order to import large volumes of Canadian canola meal. Those who attended the seminar discussed the efficient ways in which Canadian canola meal be exported and the future expectations of both parties in order to solidify a bright future for China's market and Canadian producers. As China’s economy continues to grow at a steady rate, the demand for high quality canola will continue to increase, and provide many opportunities for Canadian canola producers.
