CCAgr: The Expressway to Canadian Chinese Agriculture and Agri-Food Business Development
The Chinese New Year has become something of a universal celebration:
Why do you need us to help you to develop your Chinese agri-food business?
1. Huge potential:
Canadians of Chinese descent constitute the largest visible minority group in Canada. According Statistics Canada, the Chinese group and South Asian group will reach about 1.8 million each by 2017. Large companies such as grocery retailer Loblaw Companies Ltd have recognized this fact. This company recently acquired T&T Supermarket Inc., Canada's largest Asian food retailer, for about $225 million, in response to the growth in the Asian marketplace.
CCAgr represents the largest platform in Canada that connects members of the Chinese-farming and agri-business communities. CCAgr is able to promote our local foods, the health benefits of our locally grown products and encourage Canadian agricultural tourism.
4. A proven success record:
Spring, 2009 we successfully organized an event called "Investing in our Canadian Farm businesses" in Toronto to showcase the potential for growth through aligning with Canadian farmers and members of the Canadian agri-business community. We attracted Chinese Canadians from across Canada to attend this event and were able to facilitate the creation of many new connections. We also organised, with the partnership of Coldwell Banker, K. Miller Realty, investment tours for Chinese Canadians in summer of 2009. Furthermore, our agrologists have written many professional Chinese articles about advantages of Canadian agriculture and agri-food. These articles were widely published and broadcasted in Chinese Canadian communities, news papers, websites and on TV. Some of these articles have gone on to be published in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and in the USA.
