CCAgr Meets With Officials from Agriculture Canada to Talk Future Ventures

On July 20th 2011, the Canada China Agriculture and Food Development Exchange Center President, Youming Zhao P.Ag, Scientific Advisor, Dr. Doug Yungblut P.Ag and partner Jack Huitema, traveled to Ottawa for a conference with Agriculture Canada. This conference was hosted by Mr. Bruce Howard, Director, Trade Commissioner and Market Development Division of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, and arranged by Ms. Sem Ponnambalam, Market Development Advisor of the Horticulture Division of Agriculture Canada.  Also in attendance of this meeting was Dr. Joe Zhu, Vice Director of the International Science Corporation Bureau and Mr. Brian Bonner, Senior Market Development Officer of Agriculture Canada.  A total of seven officials from Agriculture Canada were in attendance.

Youming Zhao, Dr. Yungblut and Jack Huitema spoke about the history, achievements, current projects and future plans of CCAgr with respects to Asian crop research and development as well as exports to china, investment attraction, and promotion of local agri-foods to the Asian community. Mr. Bruce Howard spoke of his experience working in the senior office of the Canadian Embassy in Beijing, and relayed invaluable advice to CCAgr pertaining to their future business ventures of Canada China cooperation. Dr. Joe Zhu and other officials at the meeting also provided CCAgr with expert advice that will aid CCAgr in upcoming projects.

As a conclusion, CCAgr is overjoyed with the result of this conference, and thanks the Canadian Government for their financial support, regulatory policy support and guidance. With this support, CCAgr is equipped to continue working with the Canadian agri-food industry in future promotion of Canada China cooperation in terms of export, investment attraction, training initiatives and scientific technology development.
